Gwyn Gittins rejoins Spicerhaart

Spicerhaart’s former managing director, Gwyn Gittins, has returned to the business in the new role of performance director.
This marks a significant moment for Spicerhaart, who are now gearing up to create 173 new jobs in the estate agency side of the business with Gittins looking to play a large role in their upcoming expansion.
Gittins, who spent over 20 years at Spicerhaart, is ready to hit the ground running: “This feels like coming home. I’ve always had unfinished business here, and now I have the perfect platform to make an impact. I love a challenge, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and help take this business to the next level.”
With a brand-new structure designed to push boundaries and maximise performance, Spicerhaart says its estate agency business is entering an “exciting new era”. This new model is creating 173 new jobs in estate agency, with an additional 63 in the lettings business.

Open Moove appoints Simon Gates as non-executive Director

Open Moove has appointed industry consultant Simon Gates as a non-executive director.
The appointment will see Gates, previously of Homesearch and more recently The Estate Agency, work closely with Ross McKenzie at a senior strategic level.
Gates, who was recently named one of the most influential person in the property industry
by the FIA, brings over a decade of industry experience. He joins Open Moove in an advisory capacity, helping to shape the company’s strategic direction.

Charnock Bates hires land and new homes manager

Charnock Bates, part of Yorkshire property consultancy Walker Singleton, has hired a land and new homes manager.
Gary Roberts joins the West Yorkshire based estate agency from housebuilder Duchy Homes, bringing more than 27 years of experience in new homes sales roles within the housebuilding sector.
At Charnock Bates, Roberts is leading the agency’s new homes sales activity. This involves collaborating with developers to appoint Charnock Bates to market their new-build homes, as well as liaising with prospective buyers on the purchasing of the new build properties.
Roberts is also tasked with identifying potential land for development across the region and negotiating the sale to developers on behalf of landowners.
Roberts said: “Charnock Bates has built a fantastic reputation for providing expert service and advice to both buyers and sellers across West Yorkshire.
“I look forward to working with the team to further build our reputation through growing our new homes and land business to be market-leader in the region.”
