Not much of a skier? Is the wait too long at Sant Ambroeus or Kemo Sabe? With dozens of art galleries in just a few short blocks, Aspen is not just for hitting the slopes, enjoying a great après-ski scene, or shopping for a Stetson, but for scoring an original piece of art. 

The Aspen Art Fair at historic Hotel Jerome is already gearing up for its third season next summer as part of Aspen Art Week. The second edition (which took place this past summer) drew over 4,000galleries, curators, and collectors from across the globe.

“This year’s growth reflects the art world’s increasing recognition of Aspen as a serious collecting and cultural destination,” says Becca Hoffman, co-founder and director of the Aspen Art Fair. Aspen’s love affair with art has been building for decades. “This town deserves an art fair that is world-class and a ground zero for artists and buyers; it’s a good catalyst that gives back to the community,” says Bob Chase, owner of Hexton Gallery and co-founder of the Aspen Art Fair.
