From glamorous old-school steakhouses and intimate downtown cocktail dens to waterfront escapes in Montauk and quietly transportive Japanese dining rooms, New York’s hospitality scene is entering a particularly exciting chapter. This season’s standout openings lean into atmosphere, storytelling, and experience-driven dining. Spaces that feel cinematic, deeply considered, and designed for lingering. Here are the openings currently on our radar.
Golden Steer

The legendary Las Vegas institution has officially arrived in Manhattan. Taking over the iconic One Fifth Avenue address in Greenwich Village, Golden Steer marks the restaurant’s first expansion beyond Nevada in its celebrated 70-year history. The new outpost channels classic Vegas glamour with tableside Caesar salads, flambé desserts, sprawling USDA Prime steaks, and a nostalgic sense of occasion that feels refreshingly timeless. Interiors by Modellus Novus blend mid-century sophistication with subtle Western influences, while private dining rooms pay homage to the steakhouse’s storied past. It’s the kind of opening that instantly becomes part of the city’s dining conversation.
The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages

Few properties capture the nostalgia of an East Coast summer quite like The Pridwin. The iconic Shelter Island retreat enters the season with a fresh lineup of elevated experiences that blend timeless Americana with modern East End sophistication. This summer, the resort debuts a bespoke cocktail program curated in partnership with celebrated New York institution Dante, featuring signature serves available across The Terrace, Crescent Bar, and Osprey Bar—including the Sunset Negroni Sbagliato and Dante’s Dirty Martini. Another standout addition is Mahjong & Martinis, a Sunday evening gathering pairing guided mahjong play with martinis overlooking Crescent Beach. Equal parts nostalgic and social, the experience perfectly reflects the resort’s enduring multigenerational charm and relaxed luxury.
Carversteak

Fresh off its success in Las Vegas, Carversteak has made its New York debut in Midtown, bringing with it a more modern interpretation of the classic steakhouse experience. Helmed by Executive Chef Daniel Ontiveros and designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, the restaurant pairs theatrical interiors with a menu centered around premium cuts, refined raw bar selections, and elevated shareable plates. The cocktail program leans into freezer martinis and inventive takes on steakhouse classics, while the warm wood detailing and brass accents create a sophisticated backdrop for pre-theater dinners and late-night power dining alike.
Confidant

After first earning acclaim in Industry City, Confidant has reopened in a larger space straddling Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights. Led by chefs Brendan Kelley and Daniel Grossman, the restaurant has quickly built a following for its inventive, seasonally rotating menu focused on dry-aged fish and meats alongside housemade pastas. The atmosphere feels understated yet deeply intentional, a neighborhood restaurant with destination-level cooking that reflects Brooklyn’s continued evolution as one of the country’s most exciting dining scenes.
Lucky Charlie

Bushwick favorite Lucky Charlie continues to attract cult-like attention thanks to award-winning pizzaiolo Nino Coniglio’s deeply nostalgic approach to Italian-American dining. Built around one of the country’s oldest coal ovens, the restaurant is known for its no-frills New York slices, late-night energy, and Italian-inspired cocktails. Open until 4 a.m., Lucky Charlie has become as much a nightlife destination as it is a pizza spot, embodying the kind of effortlessly cool downtown energy that New Yorkers are constantly chasing.
Dandelion

One of downtown Manhattan’s most anticipated cocktail openings comes courtesy of hospitality veterans Eytan Sugarman and Will Makris, the names behind cultural mainstays like Zero Bond and White Horse Tavern. Dandelion is intimate and cinematic, featuring a 17-seat bar, moody jewel-toned interiors, and a thoughtfully curated cocktail menu from Keith Larry. Michelin-starred chef Franco Sampogna oversees the food program, bringing an elevated sensibility to classic bar dining. Between the preserved dandelion installations, McIntosh sound system, and warm amber lighting, the space feels designed for lingering late into the night.
Teruko

Tucked discreetly beneath the storied Hotel Chelsea, Teruko offers one of the season’s most transportive dining experiences. Led by Sunday Hospitality and Executive Chef Tadashi Ono, the restaurant pays tribute to Japanese-Swiss artist Teruko Yokoi through a menu rooted in traditional Japanese techniques and ingredients sourced both locally and from Japan. Guests can expect Edomae-style sushi, robata-grilled dishes, and one of the most extensive Japanese whisky collections in North America. Quietly elegant and deeply atmospheric, Teruko feels perfectly aligned with the renewed creative energy surrounding the Chelsea neighborhood.
Barlume Beach

Set to debut this summer, Barlume Beach is already shaping up to be one of Montauk’s most talked-about new arrivals. Created by LDV Hospitality, the 19-key waterfront destination blends Mediterranean-inspired design with the relaxed energy of Montauk Harbor. Designed by Studio Tre, the property features marina slips, a beach club, indoor-outdoor dining spaces, and programming centered around music, wellness, and coastal living. Guests can expect signature dishes from Chef Francesco Battisti, sunset “linner” experiences, cocktail-driven evenings, and curated boating excursions that channel a distinctly European sensibility out East. It’s a natural evolution of LDV’s “La Dolce Vita” philosophy—and perhaps one of the Hamptons’ chicest new summer destinations yet.

A beloved institution from Prato, Tuscany, La Tazza D’Oro has officially landed in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. Brought stateside by LDV Hospitality, the all-day concept captures the charm of a classic Italian café while elevating it through thoughtful design and polished hospitality. Guests can stop in for espresso and pastries, linger over aperitivo hour, or settle into elegant lunches and dinners that channel the rhythm and warmth of Italian daily life.
