For our most recent Giveback Homes Build Day, The Agency’s Southern California team members harnessed the energy of the new season to make a real difference in their local community. On March 14th, The Agency, partnering with Giveback Homes and New American Funding, hosted a special hands-on event in Habitat LA’s Holmes Development in Los Angeles’ Florence-Firestone community.

Our volunteers—including The Agency’s founder and CEO, Mauricio Umansky, Sophia and Alexia Umansky— tackled a range of impactful tasks, from working on scaffolding to handling nail guns and power saws. Slated for full completion in 2025, the home they helped build will house a local community member and caseworker for a mental health agency along with her young son and brother. At the end of the day, several volunteers left heartfelt messages on the interior walls of the homes to welcome its future residents.

Shoutout to all our amazing volunteers—Catherine Ammann, Sadie Delgado, Nicholas Santo Pietro, Lindsay Hecker, Michelle Schwartz, Sharon Benton, Adrienne Herkes, Katie Knobbe, Julia Goodman, Allie Lutz Rosenberger, Melissa Platt, Tyler Hill, Maddie Buffardi, Michael Grady and Yoonjin Stovall

The Holmes Development’s two-story townhomes feature energy-efficient appliances and solar systems, offering a sustainable and affordable living solution for qualified residents. Partner homebuyers actively contribute alongside volunteers, investing their labor to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
