Our hearts go out to those impacted by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and we stand with them during these exceedingly challenging times. Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica on October 28, 2025, bringing devastating damage to the island’s western and southwestern parishes. Many families have lost their homes and livelihoods. The recovery ahead will be long and will require sustained support from the global community.
The Agency Jamaica team has been working to support both their clients and the communities hit hardest by the storm. Managing Partners of The Agency Jamaica Taff Stevenson and Rebecca Stevenson, along with their team, are working from their Kingston office, which is open and operational.
“Right now, our focus is on immediate relief. We’re asking our global network to join us in supporting the people of Jamaica during this time of crisis and recovery,” says Rebecca Stevenson. “Our island’s spirit is resilient, and we’re determined to help Jamaica rise stronger.”
Jamaica’s real estate market and business infrastructure also remain operational outside of the areas along the southern coastlines directly impacted by this unprecedentedly powerful Category 5 storm.
“The Agency Jamaica team is helping those affected by the hurricane to find housing, and are available to assist clients with property inquiries and transactions when the time is appropriate,” says Taff Stevenson. “Continued economic engagement with Jamaica is vital, and will support the country’s long-term recovery. We welcome tourism. Visitor spending is essential to the livelihood of so many Jamaican families who are facing extreme economic hardship as a result of this natural disaster.”
Their team of agents and community partners are directly assisting affected communities and families with immediate needs and are committed to assisting with broader relief efforts that will likely span months and years to come. We’re joining them in this work and asking The Agency family—along with our partners and our global network—to contribute to the following organizations providing critical aid on the ground in Jamaica:
“Direct contributions to our local nonprofits often reach affected communities faster than larger organizations,” says Rebecca Stevenon, whose team has been organizing local relief distributions to quickly provide essentials. “Every donation helps families access temporary shelter, food, fresh water, medical care, and the resources needed to begin rebuilding their lives.”
“The Agency was built on the principle that we’re a community first and a business second. When crisis strikes, we take care of our own,” says Mauricio Umansky, CEO and Founder of The Agency. “Jamaica needs us, and we’re here for them—today and throughout the long recovery ahead.”
