As dusk settled over Clyde Hill, just east of Seattle, the estate at 8528 NE 13th Street radiated with light. Inside, nearly 90 guests gathered for an event celebrating architecture, art, design, and the creative spirit of The Emerald City, hosted by Jen Cameron of The Agency Seattle and Arushi Kapoor, founder of The Agency Art House. Curated with contemporary art by local creators, the occasion transformed this striking Pacific Northwest Contemporary home into a living gallery.
Simply referred to as The 8528, the 7,440-square-foot home was designed by Andrés Villaveces of Métrica Architects and built by GMarko Development on the shores of a private lake in one of the Eastside’s most coveted enclaves. Every sightline is deliberate, with walls of glass drawing the eye through the home and out toward the landscape. The result is a series of versatile spaces that feel expansive, warm, and connected —as seen captured through movement on film by Jonathan Batista, principal dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet.
“The property was a stunning backdrop for the event, but the art created a deeper connection between the buyers, the community, and the home itself—it brought the story to life,” said Cameron. “The collaboration behind 8528, from the architect and builder to the artists and creative partners, has created extraordinary exposure and helped us tell the story of this home in a completely different way.”
In addition to its natural flow, the home’s wall space provided the ideal setup for work curated by Arushi from four local artists: Mary Lonergan, Christy Hopkins, Natalie Sifferman, and Sue Ellen Zhang. During the evening, which was sponsored by Seattle Bentley, guests enjoyed champagne, music, and the opportunity to experience—and purchase—the artwork throughout the residence. Andrés also shared remarks on the architectural vision for the home, and Arushi spoke about the intersection of art and space.
“A home already has a rhythm, an idea of what it should be, and art should enhance that, not compete with it,” noted Kapoor, whose bespoke staging services were recently featured in the new fall edition of The Agency Times. “It’s about balance, knowing when art should lead and when it should quietly support.”
